Jeremiah Wright
Jeremiah Wright is considered a false teacher due to his racist, anti-semitic teachings. As a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he should know better. In fact, his church's web site proves that he does know better because his spoken words in public contradict the written words on his church's web site.
Barack Obama's former pastor
Current pastor emeritus at the Trinity United Church of Christ, Chicago, Illinois.
Jeremiah Wright promotes, preaches and teaches Black Liberation Theology.
If you take the time to read the mission statement of Jeremiah Wright's church, at first glance it all seems very good... until you read the next section, 10 point vision.
4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.
Their official statements are often contradictory. For example,
"...we are called to be agents of liberation not only for the oppressed, but for all of God’s family".
But if you look at the Black Value System that Jeremiah Wright and his church has adopted, you will see that everything their church does and teaches relates to Black people and no other. This is absolute racism.
"We are called out to be "a chosen people" that pays no attention to socio-economic or educational backgrounds..."
What this statement fails to mention is that they pay no attention to socio-economic or educational backgrounds of their own members, or members of the Black community.
Jeremiah Wright promotes Marxism..
"The fortunate who are among us combine forces with the less fortunate to become agents of change for God who is not pleased with America’s economic mal-distribution!"
Jeremiah Wright is Anti-Semitic.
“The Israelis have illegally occupied Palestinian territories for over 40 years now. Divestment has now hit the table again as a strategy to wake the business community and wake up Americans concerning the injustice and the racism under which the Palestinians have lived because of Zionism.”
Jeremiah Wright gave a lifetime achievement award to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. For nearly 30 years, Louis Farrakhan has marked himself a notable figure on the extremist scene by making hateful statements targeting Jews, whites and homosexuals.
"Minister Farrakhan will be remembered as one of the 20th and
21st century giants of the African American religious experience, His integrity and honesty have secured him a place in history as one of the nation's most powerful critics.
His love for Africa and African American people has made him an unforgettable
force, a catalyst for change and a religious leader who is sincere
about his faith and his purpose." - Jeremiah Wright
Farrakhan's bigoted and anti-Semitic rhetoric has included statements calling whites "blue eyed devils" and Jews "bloodsuckers" that controlled the slave trade, the government, the media and various Black individuals and organizations. He frequently denies that Jews have a legitimate claim to their religion.
During his keynote address at the Nation of Islam's annual Saviours' Day event in Chicago in February 2010, Farrakhan accused "Zionists" of controlling Congress and the Obama administration. He also advanced long-standing conspiracy theories about Jews and money, and asserted that the "the white right" is attempting to set up the assassination of President Barack Obama.
In July 2009, Farrakhan delivered an anti-Semitic tirade during a speech about Michael Jackson, alleging that that Zionist Jews are out to sabotage influential African Americans and claiming that the performer suffered at the hands of powerful Jews throughout his career.
Jeremiah Wright, Christianity demands that we love our neighbor regardless of race. Jesus did not tell His disciples to go into all the world and make Black disciples. Jesus died for the sake of all people. Racism is disgusting enough but is is especially so when it is propagated from the pulpit by so-called men of God. You should be concerned with leading non-Christians to Christ and teaching new disciples to love rather than hate. That is the only way racism will ever go away. You incite racism and place ever increasing wedges between Blacks and non-Blacks. You and I should be brothers due to our relationship with Jesus Christ. Instead we are estranged because some sick and twisted godless people decided that slavery was once acceptable, therefore I and every other white person are somehow not worthy to receive the great salvation that God extends to everyone who believes. You are as much a racist as those slave traders that have caused so much misery in the past. You help to perpetuate that misery by keeping hatred alive rather than hope. Hope should dictate that you and I can truly be brothers because of the salvation that we share. True love for one another means that we look beyond skin color and we look toward heaven for answers to the difficult questions. Changing hearts is the only solution to racism. When hearts are moved to love God and Christ, and they are taught to love one another in truth, racism in society can diminish. True Christians by their very nature are not racist. Teach yourself and then your people to be a true Christian and racism will take care of itself. - bwr
