Created To Serve

All beings were created to serve.
Animals were first created to serve man.
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." GE 1:26
Animals were later given no Noah as food.
Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. GE 9:1-3
Angels were created to serve.
Some people believe that people somehow evolve into angels after their death. While this may be a comforting sentiment when mourning a loved one, it is an incorrect assumption as to how angels were created.
Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? HEB 1:14
It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking. But there is a place where someone has testified: "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? HEB 2:5-6
And finally, we were created to serve.
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 2CO 3:6
You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. GAL 5:13
But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. RO 7:6
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! HEB 9:14
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. 1PE 4:10
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth." REV 5:10
We each have our part to play in the service to others. The Bible makes it clear that every living thing on earth was created to serve, even the vegetation of the earth (Gen 9:3). How do we fulfill the two greatest commandments to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves? When we serve the One True God (DT 13:1-4) and when we serve each other (Gal 6:2).
